The Parent's Corner

The parent's corner is a set of tools for parents to manage their family's game.  It is here that you set up your game, monitor progress, and access you and your children's charts.  You also can select chores from your children's or spouse's charts that receive Bonus points.  

To get to the Parent's Corner, login with the email address and password of the person who is responsible for the SFC account.  The software will then bring up the Parent's Corner Page.

You will notice the Page has 3 general areas:

  • Family Goals, Celebration, Ante and Start Date
  • Family Member Edit and Access area
  • Reports area

Entering Family Goals, Celebration and Ante

One of your first tasks is to decide on a 3 week family goal, celebration and ante.  You enter these by clicking on the link.  This will cause a "pop up" to appear.  Enter the text in the text box.  Click on the submit button and the popup will disappear and the Parent's Corner page will refresh. The Goals, Celebration and Ante popups all work the same way.

Occasionally, the browser will send a warning after the popup closes.  If you don't know what to do, find out more about it here.

The Start Date

The Start Date effects when scoring begins and how much history you can see. If your family is on a 3 week reward cycle you would change this every 3 weeks. Generally it is best to start your scoring from a Monday (but not required).

Start DateEither enter the date in mm/dd/yyyy form or click on the Calendar Icon and select the date from the calendar.  Click the Submit Start Date button to complete the change.

 Adding/Editing Family Members

To add or edit family members, click on the Add Players or Edit Players link.  The following popup will appear. Add Player

Fill in the blanks with the appropriate text. The email address is an optional field. Click on the "Enter" button to submit the form.  Family members that have been added will now appear Under the Chore Loggers Title.

Accessing a Player's Game

Player AccessTo access a player's game click on their link.  This will open their Main Game Page.  

Click on the "Today's Chore Chart" link to access the Chore Chart.

How to assign bonus chores

To set up bonus chore you need to access the player's chore chart.  As illustrated above, click on their link on the Parent's Corner page.  This will bring up their Game Page.  Select the "Today's Chore Chart" link and you will bring their Chore Logger (see figure).  Click on the chore under the future day you wish it to be a bonus chore.  Then click the "Update" button.  The chores you selected will be surrounded by a green field to indicate that they will be "bonus" chores on that date.

Parent's Corner Family Report

 The family report is useful for seeing how the family is performing as a team.  The totals for the week and from the start date of the game are tallied here.  In addition, the history of each member's performance can be seen from the links in this report.  You can "drill down" and see the chore chart logger for every week and for every player.

The Summary Report gives you a quick view at how your family members are doing and how close you are to your Family Celebration!

Retrieving a player's history

 To retrieve a player's history click on the link to their individual report.  This will open up their individual summary report where each week's totals are listed.  Click on the date of the week you wish to look at and the Chore Logger for that week will appear.
